4 Favorite Summer Products
I was tagged to show my 4 Favorite Summer products.
As I'm typing this up, I'm jamming to Karmin's (Karminmusic.com) Hello album ;)
Clockwise from left:
1.) MAC Nude on Board Pro Longwear Bronzing Powder (Hey, Sailor! collection Summer 2012 LE)
I love this bronzer! It's long lasting and perfect bronzing for days I don't want to wear foundation. It's doesn't offer coverage like a powder foundation, but the beautiful neutral bronze tint and gold sheen is gorg.
2.) MAC Equilibrium blush (MAC Me Over collection, Fall 2012 LE)
This blush is described as a light bronze. It definitely falls into the same family as some of my other favorite MAC blushes such as Sweet as Cocoa and Get Away Bronze. Gorgeous bronze with some deep rose to it.
3.) MAC Whisper of Gilt MSF (Extra Dimension collection, Spring 2012 LE)
I'll have to admit, when I saw this I was skeptical.. it looks overly pigmented and wayyy too metallic for me as a face product. I ordered it anyway. Blame the MAC fanatic in me. My sister pulled it out to play with it and I've been hooked ever since. The beauty of this product is that it can me used to its full potential as an eye shadow or you can sheer it down so well for a gorgeous illuminator-- cheek highlighter, tear duct, slightly used all over (think mineralized satin finish foundation) or as a brow highlight. For those of you that follow my blog know I don't use brow highlights outside of my concealer.
4.) Stila Sparkle Waterproof Liquid Liner in Rock Candy
I got this a while back when IMATS debuted in NY. And if you follow Yummy411 on FB you might have seen this picture:
Yes, I'm showing you better than I can tell you. Let the light hit the sparkles... fire! Make it pop even more by using it over a black liner. This can be a bit watery sometimes, but you go over it once or twice and you are good. Once it sets, it doesn't move! Ahh, I love this. Brown for me is the new black.
What are you favorite Summer products?

Physicians Formula Bronze Booster Glow Booster Sun Stones in Medium Dark

A while back before Valentines Day, the stands at my local Rite Aid had overflowing displays of Physicians Formulas newest offering including the infamous Happy Heart Booster Glow Blush. The other item on the stand that caught my attention was the bronzer beads, which PF has dubbed Sun Stones.... how cute. I got nostalgic thinking of when I was first introduced to bronzer beads... AVON was the brand and I was smitten! It was my favorite product from line. Later, I began lusting after the Guerlain Meteorites, but that was a bit out of budget. Between the unavailable AVON products and the out of reach Guerlain, the drugstore beads from Physicians Formula was my middle option, roughly $14, pricey in its own right.
I saw the glistening beads peaking at me through the packaging... it appeared to be magic in a compact! My choice was made! Luckily, there was a $3 off coupon attached on the front.
Take a look at some photos, swatches and my review:

Physicians Formula says:
- "Luminous bronzing Sun Stones provide an instant and lasting tan-boost that blends and builds easily to your desired level of bronze.
- Indescent bronze and gold blend together for a gorgeous and glowing bronze effect.
- Unique Sun Stones provide the soft, smooth look of a loose powder without the mess."
CONS: Beads float around as you rub across them with your brush and at times they will get caught in between your bristles. I use a duo fibre brush (MAC #187)dusting lightly across the beads and apply. The lighter beads carry bigger chunks of glimmer.. but I don't mind. They are a bit sparse and I like having an option with just shimmer , bronze and a little drama.
Do you have this bronzer? What do you think of it?

Three I's
Mini review: Just like the popular acrylic white french tips for chip resistant color and longer wear many people get, this design takes on the same concept. Virtually no chipping and with the axiom gel top coat it shines for days without a clear polish top coat touch up! It seems stronger than regular acrylic. The finish is glassy with huge shards of opal-esque/mother of pearl glitter floating in a jelly. With this lilac color, I have no visible nail line like I did with the white/clear/sky blue glitter. Drying time is painless and perfect! About 10 minutes or so under the UV gel lamp and stick a fork in me, I'm done!
Downside: The cost will run you about $30-35-45 for a fill depending on what you want- change the design, cut down, basic fill. That's compared to a regular acrylic fill of $15-20. Also, during the file down you will need a little mask or to cover your mouth. This process get dusty and dirty more than likely due to the thickness and amount of acrylic and extra particles (the glitter).
I'm crushing on...*now loving* Nars Multiple in Lamu from the Summer 2010 Collection. It's Nars Multiple meets MAC iridescent pressed powders. Remember those from the Fafi collection? I didn't like the MAC iridescent powders because it gave a hint of color with huge glitter that fell where the wind blew... but THIS lays the glitter down in a cream, the color is gorgeous and is just awesome with my tan! :D Def have to see this in person. Here's one more Lamu Multple swatch from Celia. Most of the gold sheen you see in that swatch is pure glittah!

I'm loving... MAC's Go For It lipstick. Cremesheen formula, nice color that's a get what you you see in the pic type color, which doesn't hold true for the likes of Lavender Whip.
A bonus 'Eye'... I bruised my eyeball (my left eye) during an allergy attack after enjoying my delish Ranier cherries last week. The best all season! Next time, I'll be heavily drugged with my Zyrtec before I indulge. This has been putting a damper on my makeup and it won't be totally clear for another week =(Extra bonus I-- I LOVE YOU GUYS! Have a great weekend!

Drugstore Paparazzi 7/20/2010: New Milani
Ooooh! Ahhh! I'm really excited about these new Lip Flash pencils! I got two of them: News Flash and I believe, In a Flash. I gave them a quick run and they made me squeal. They deserve their own separate post!
More baked bronzers from Milani? Or revamped baked bronzers? I saw these Milani Baked Bronzers a while back. However, here is the stand for the new product, ummm minus the actual product. *Sigh* I guess we can't have it all, huh? Actually, I had one of the three bronzers in my basket (forgot to take a picture, hehe), got to the register and couldn't swallow the $10 price tag for yet another shimmery bronzer. Wait for BOGO? More than likely. These are more refined than the foil-tastic baked bronzers they had before. The packaging isn't as chunky and they look appealing. You will definitely get glitter shimmers, but I'm willing to try them at a better bargain price! I hear the mosaic bronzers/blush colors are the bomb!Friday, October 30, 2009

Milani jumps on the baked bronzer bandwagon!
CVS Shopping list: prescription, panty liners, soup and AdvilWhy do I still make my way through the makeup aisle?
Milani's TANtastic Face & Body Baked Bronzer (approx. $10) not on Milani's website yet, sigh
Comes in two colors #1 and #2
I didn't buy it because I have at least 10 items I can think of off the top of my head that are similar in my stash. I will say that it looks a bit 'foily' meaning it might not be as much of a refined powder and will deliver ultra, almost metallic shine (since it is a face AND body product?) Well, I haven't tried it myself, so I'm not positive.
Have you tried it? *Heads over to Nouveu Cheap as she's always got the scoop on drugstore buys!*

Drugstore Paparazzi 5-02-2009: Jane AguaCeuticals Blush Stix, Wet N Wild Speed Gloss

Jane. (Be Pure)AguaCeuticals BlushStix and AguaGlow Bronzer. As you can see it retails for $6.49. The BlushStixs come in two colors, Peach and Bronze. There are two Bronzers bricked/mosaics. I didn't check those out too closely, but I did get a BlushStix. The packaging is made from recycled materials.. how cool?! I like that cosmetic companies are going green!
I love stick blushes, creme blushes and cheeks stains. Can't wait to give these babies a whirl!

Wet N Wild Speed Gloss collection has quite a variety of colors as you can see. They retail for about $3.99. I picked up two of these babies back in February. I guess the product is slowly making its way into the store (or should I say getting stocked!?)
I've test driven these for a while now, so I'll have a review up soon!

Yummy411: Neo Sci Fi Preliminary Review
(Photos: Thisislavie)The Neo Sci Fi collection and accompanying collections debuted today... early! Much anticipation for these babies dressed in orange!
Lipglass:
**HIGHLIGHT OF THE COLLECTION**
-Naked Space: creamy mid tone nude peach.
Right up the alley of Bonus Beat and 1N lipglass. Those are some of my faves so it will be hauled! Gosh I hate buying lipglasses that are so similar!
-Pink Grapefruit: orange with gold pearl (repromote)
Hotness! Will haul! Great summery tropical punch shade... If you couldn't get with some of the Fafi lipstick shades like Strawbaby etc. this is a great alternative!
-Soft and Slow: mid tone creamy plum
Repromote that I wasn't as interested in... soft plum, nice.
-Supreme: bronze brown with white pearl
Oh Baby without the glitter. I'm a big Oh Baby fan so this will be hauled as well... such a metallic bronze in the tube. Hard not to like it.

Lipsticks:
-Sunsonic: white gold
Gel lipstick dupe, or whiter- eeps!
-Electro: bright orange
It's a lustre so it's a great color and wearable. Great compliment to pink grapefruit.
- Astral: mid tone brown with red pearl
Deep browns don't quite compliment me, so this was off my radar. I also favor a nude lip. I'm sure it would look great with Supreme lipglass.
-Sci-fi-delity: burnt red with gold pearl
This color was in the same class as Astral for me. I'll update tomorrow with a better opinion.
-Pleasureseeker: creamy peach glaze
I would say this was the little sister to Heatherette's Lollipop Lovin'; lighter and not as pigmented. Nice shade to go with it's accompanying lipglass.

Eyeshadows:
-Magnetic fields: black brown with silver pearl
It is exactly what it sounds and looks like. Need another somewhat black shadow? (I don't.) Then this is it in pretty orange clothes!
-Femme Fi: frosty golden cream
Another one....
-Evening Aura: frosty golden peach, veluxe pearl
Yes, a light pastel peach. Nice color to use with Expensive Pink
-Expensive Pink: pink with gold duochrome
One of my faves of the permanent line. A summery pink in that it plays up the golds and bronzes. A must have for MAC collectors and a great staple.
-Time and Space: Frosty copper
Copper? Not so much to me. It's in the family of a Woodwinked but interestingly enough, not as frosty. On me, it swatched almost like a bronze stain of sorts. Nice, not necessary.
Bronzer and Blush:
-Refined Golden: golden with soft pearl finish; repromote
It's all about the casing!
-Solar Riche: mid tone deep orange brown
Eek! Most oranges I shy away from, esp orange brown bronzer. Orange supposedly works on darker skintones... check it out!
-Spaced Out Blush: shimmery peach.
The blush version of evening aura. A nice light blush for paler skintones, an interesting highlight blush for medium skintones. I wouldn't recommend this for darker skintones, unless you can work this as a highlight also.
-X Rockes Blush: shimmery dirty mauve
Nice. Fits in the bronze landscape but bringing a berry mauve tone. A calmed down (no glitters) version of fab without as much red? A stretch, but just trying to evoke some images LOL. These blushes seem to have the a more refined velvety texture than those of last year's Summer collection.
*Nail Polishes- Trust all are hot! The goldish one, Metalist coming in last.
*Solar Bits from the other collection- meh. Grainy and inconsistant pigment and glitter. What if used wet....?

Yummy411- Drugstore Paparazzi NYX
This isn't new, but since forever, this image of this chick has made me aspire to be a bronze beauty goddess. Isn't she just gorgeous?! We know that companies and pics lie, so I've never picked up a PP bronzer. I've heard all the raves of the shimmer/bronze strips, but I have enough already for a lifetime!
Here's more from Jesse's Girl, though these shades aren't new and are found in the regular lineup. However, the eye shadow transformer is. Hmm, I'll pass on the $5.99 price tag with my glycerin at home. Anyone have experience with this or packaged transformers and how they compare with DIY transformers? (Kris, check the Jean Nate' bubble bath to the right, in HUGE bottles LOL!)
Maite presents NYX! Finally, on shelves near me! Pictured- glitter pencil sticks. I picked up the green and white pencils. I love glitter. Not for all over shimmer, but as accents with makeup for more dimension. Black glitter on a smokey eye.. yum! I wish they would have sold a black glitter =/ Reatil $3.49. The stick spreads the glitter evenly without the color of the actul stick being prominent. Staying power? Hmmm, a lot left to be desired. UDPP opens a world of possibilites, so we shall see.
Blusher and bronzer oh my! I swatched the darkest bronzer mosaic pot and it seemed a bit light. I think it would work well on me, but I'm not so certain for darker skintones. The pinker blush may work.. try it for yourself! I got a small drugstore haul. I would like to use some of the items for a bit longer before reviewing.
Tried any of this stuff? What's new in your neck of the woods and what should I look out for at my drugstore?

Yummy411: tarte Ready, Set, Glow Product Review
Here are the specs:
-double-ended lipgloss in elle & emmett (sparkly pink and lilac)--skinvigorating™ ingredients: jojoba seed oil, mineral pigments, paraben free, mineral oil free, phthalate free, dermatologist tested
-rest assured brightening wand --skinvigorating™ ingredients: cocoa seed butter, shea butter, mineral pigments, water, beeswax, phthalate free, dermatologist tested
mineral powder bronzer in park avenue princess (light bronze)--skinvigorating™ ingredients: vitamin A, C & E, mineral pigments, mineral oil free, phthalate free, dermatologist tested
Family, I'm so excited about this set! All of the products are great with good for you ingredients-- nothing compromised! Some of the star products are: The double ended lipgloss--great light hearted colors and texture. Park Avenue Princess bronzer is hot! The color is warm and doesn't give you an obnoxious tan tone. It's a warm glow for fair skin tones and a natural glow for darker skin tones. Can't beat that, especially in a chic little casing! Great in the makeup bag. My favorite, that seems to be everyone's favorite that made tarte famous-- the CHEEK STAIN! This product did not disappoint!! People describe some blushes as a glow from within. That is how I would describe this stain. Guess who's been creeping in my makeup bag?? The 12 year old sis. Introducing her to makeup, (oh what am I doing? LOL) she's taken a liking to the stain as well! It's pretty much fool proof and easy to apply. I love it so much! I can't wait to try out the other colors. I hear that the shade Blushing Bride is amazing on darker skin tones.
Have any of you tried this set? Looking forward to purchasing it? Let me know what you think?

Yummy411: MAC's New Mineralized Skinfinishes Images and Swatches
Warmed MSF-great for a nice, natural glow on brown beauties or a great bronzer for lighter chicas. It warms the skin. I'll use this as a bronzer.
You know what, just go into the store and let them put it on you. That's the only way you'll see what we mean. Be sure to be in adequate lighting. Go outside in natural light even!
I added Northern Light MSF in there because most who've been following these releases, may be skeptical of Light Flush thinking 'that looks exactly like Northern Light MSF from the Flashtronic collection.' To the naked eye, yes, but swatched... totally different! When I first got NL, I thought, 'a nice pinky highlight' since I don't have many pink blushes. Now, compared to LF, I consider NL a light, subtle, peachy glow. I'm so glad I have both!
(different angle)
Here are the actual pans.
(Northern Light)
(Warmed, the veining isn't chunky glitter nor is it really any shimmer)
The #187 brush is perfect for MSFs or a super fluffy blusher brush!

Tuesday, Upcoming and Around the Blogosphere
Right now, this is silently playing in my ears and making my head bob:
"I met this girl when I was three years old
And what I loved most she had so much soul
She said, excuse me little homie, I know you don't know me- but,
My name is Wendy and, I like to blow trees and,
From that point I never blow her off.........."
What song and artist is that? Anyone else bopping with me?
Here's some cool stuff from around the blogosphere:

Our blogosphere style vixen, Samida of Stained Couture, put me on to this pump; Vince Camuto 'Lottie' Peep Toe Pump, $119.
Daneen from Spoiled Pretty shows us the most universal flattering hairstyles and how to get them!

I've been totally lusting after this product, the YSL Palette Esprit Couture #2.. but Tia of Shake Your Beauty shows us a comparable palette until I can get my hands on this collector's item!
I love Essence mag and they've come out with Style Diary, a beauty and fashion blog. The media is taking blogs very seriously these days. I knew it was coming sooner or later, but I was hoping they'd outsource some help *smile* Speaking of Essence, I love the 10 Things We're Talking About section which features the hot, controversial topics Black media and culture. Short and concise, it fits me well since I'm a list kind of girl (keeping up with my attention span). Besides it's written by one of my best buds C. Gordy. I'm always looking for more from her and I've found it on Essence.com! I'm diggin in first where she gives Jena 6 some coverage, interviewing with Mychal Bell's mom.
I adore Scandalous Beauty Blog, but Erin is giving us even more MAC coverage by giving it its own site : The MAC Fetish! Yay! For the makeup/MAC heads, it's never enough =) The official launch date is 10/22, mark your calendars!
There's sooo much more out there. Check the right sideline for great blogs, info and the different widgets over there to feed you more great articles!
Upcoming:
This was a long weekend, which gave me time for what? more beauty LOL. I can't give you all the scoop at the moment, because I don't have pics of everything.
-I did a fab photoshoot for an up and coming gospel artist.
-I met up with a fellow makeup addict that you all are acquainted with- Apple Diva.
-Some fabulous how- to's that are long overdue (eyebrows and more!)
Stay tuned, I'll be working on the pictures!
An Ode, not really, to one of my fab sisters
(Unfortunately, this ode does not rhyme and you can't sing it... lol)
My sister Toni, recently told me to get on my knees and to lick and scrape every (negative) word I ever said to her about makeup off the ground while she was experiencing one of my makeup addiction highs over breakfast on our Columbus holiday. While we both love beauty, here's the difference between us: At our impromptu breakfast at the College Park Diner (home style, delicious food; a breakfast lover's indulging haven) I was sitting in loose jogging capris, a t-shirt and my quilted hoodie, looking quite busted (with boy in tow) plotting on how to include a beauty run into my busy schedule ahead. She, on the other hand, looked divalicious, with her curls bouncing from her press and curl fresh out of a wrap, a "I-can't-tell-you're-preggo" maternity outfit on (black capris, bubble sleeved satin wrap shirt and gold accessories) AND baby boy in tow! I hadn't even bothered to contemplate earrings as I wore my hood... I constantly think beauty as she wears it with ease (WITH A BABY IN HER ARMS AND BELLY!) Oh well... peeking out from under my hood, that I quickly removed, I eye-ed this scrumptious cutie; tall stature, black jogging suit... a UMD bball player perhaps? Great! Why can't I wear beauty with ease?! For her, it's a habit. An ode, but not really, to you Toni!
