Check out my purple lipstick of the day! I went to New York a while back to preview the debut of these new lippies. Quite exciting to finally visit the chic boutique of makeup! I picked up this #15 lipstick (purple in a pearl finish)... purple's all the rage, right? This took a few layers to even out, which I wasn't too happy with, but I love the end result. The pic above isn't the 8th pic out of the 8th folder (as the rules ask for), but I kinda lost count after the different branches it took to get to this photo. This is a pic of the kid that he took of himself with my Blackberry. After not hearing my phone beep or ring for a bit, I'm sure to find a silly slide show of the kid's photography!.. but hehe, I enjoy them most times.

1.What shoe size are you?
11- there i said it! I used to be 10 borderline 11. I guess a few cupcakes later, I'm a complete 11.. no exceptions... except with some Nine West shoes and I love them ;)


2.Where do you work?
In DC's judicial system :s

3.Favorite piece of clothing you own
Hmmm, I'm enamoured with my two purple dresses...one is pretty and soft, the other is a bit more night on the town.. ow!

4.Your favorite blog?
Really? When I subscribe to fifty eleven hunnid?? iCan't. It's like picking a favorite family member or friend. You like them and love them for different reasons, all unique to them.

5.Do you have any pets?
I unofficially disown my tortuga... Don't tell the kid!

6.How many siblings do you have?
I have 3 siblings.. all sisters. How could a girl be so lucky?

7.If you could live anywhere where would it be?
In a house with a wrap around porch in a mid size town, with easy traffic and moderate temps and a great school system! :D


8.What were you doing before this?
Making sure the car wasn't getting towed, feeding the kid dinner and helping my dad with his online banking.. I multi task!

9.Your favorite food?
Icecream or Tangysweet frozen yogurt


10.Do you have a middle name?
Yes. Most of my dad's siblings don't have middle names, but I was named after one of them that actually has a middle name. It's a mash-up of my grandmother's name and her dad's name. I like carrying on the history even if it is a weird name!

11.Your favorite websites?
Specktra will always be a fave, but this again is a difficult question since my internet time is consumed with blogs and not actual sites.

confessions of 'me time'

Here's another confession, since I realized my last confession* is totally normal amongst makeup junkies: I'm confessing about my 'me time.' Ah finally! Some me time! How do I spend the quiet moments without BabyYum and the daily stresses of life? I kick back with fruit and raw cookie dough (coconut macaroon) and watch some YouTube makeup tutorials... I don't know if that's a good or bad thing-- ok obviously the macaroons are bad, bad, bad, but what the hell!

I love most of YouTube's makeup tutorials, because they are by real people using products that are accessible to me. The latest videos I've watched are from a user named xsparkage. She's fun, a non-perfectionist and likes spunky makeup! Her dialogue and instructions are easy going and aren't loaded with a bunch of intimidating MUA jargon... she just shows us how to do it!

Miss Xsparkage has introduced me to a few new items that are going on my forever growing 'must have' list:

• MAC brush #217- pencil brush for lining, and getting in small areas like the inner corner


• MAC brush #219- a fat rounded shader/blender brush that helps with blending of color and highlighting of the brow. I think my favorite brush* right now is comparable, but I shall compare!


• I must break down and buy a mixing medium (or make some with glycerin and water) if I want to continue to purchase pigments. It will help the color payoff.

I think the cookie dough is giving me heartburn =p Off to bed!

A Do or Don't: Macy Gray

Yummy411's friends over at WalkTaken! posted this photo of Macy Gray not too long ago, critiquing her hair, giving her the thumbs down (walk on it, lol.) I actually think it's okay and definitely an upgrade for her- makeup, hair, clothes and all... I love the tie action. I've been trying to find one myself! What do you all think? Is it a Do or Don't for Macy Gray?
