The Cosmetics Company Outlet at Tanger Outlets at National Harbor

This past weekend I visited the CCO at the new  Tanger Outlets in the DMV (DC, Maryland  and VA) area.  Honestly, the CCO was the only reason I wanted to go to the outlets. No more planning trips to Arundel or Leesburg to get to a CCO! I now have one in my back yard!

Lights, makeup, cosmetics, liners, lipsticks, testers, discounts, assortment, MAC, Bobbi Brown, Estee Lauder, Cliniquie, perfumes, DKNY, Tommy Hilfiger......

Ummmm, it was there, but very little of it, like almost NOTHING. I was told they get shipments once a month... blink, blink, stare...

SIGH. I guess after a year or so the inventory will pick up and it will be a store we can enjoy. I'm hopeful.

Nordstrom Rack DC Pre Opening Event

DC gets a Nordsstrom Rack downtown! I attended the pre-opening event on Tuesday evening at the brand new location  at 1800 L Street, NW-- Farragut North Metro.  With 35,000 square feet, there was a lot of shopping to do!

Invited shoppers noshed on hors d'oeuvres and drinks, received a tote bag and got triple points when shopping with their Nordstrom card.

While you can expect bargain prices for hot fashion, I had to keep an eye out for my plus size ladies.  The selection for plus size wasn't as plentiful as the Pentagon City, but I give them time.  Accessories were nice with lots of size 10 rings.  Women's shoes went up to a 12, while men's shoes went up to a  size 14!

On the beauty front, Nordstrom Rack carries brands such as Urban Decay, OPI, NYX, Philosophy, Neutrogena and more.

I love that we have more options to shop in downtown DC!

Join Nordstrom Rack for their grand opening event  on April 18,2013 starting at 9am with pre-opening festivities starting at 8am (breakfast treats and more). First 1,000 shoppers to make a purchase will receive a complimentary Nordstrom Rack tote.

Shoe Woo is closing its doors

Do you guys remember when I told you about the cute shoe boutique, ShoeWoo that opened in not-so-long-ago 2009?  Well, in this horrible economy ShoeWoo is saying good bye.  I asked for details since I was terribly heart broken to hear this.  I was told that while the DC location was booming, others weren't.  Did I say I was heart broken?  ShoeWoo was one place that I enjoyed for the ambiance and eye candy, that is shoes.  Well for a limited time, get your shoes 50% off.    Even sale items.  That feels horribly bittersweet.  I wanted to buy up a bunch for nostalgia.  I mean where under one roof can I ask for any shoe in a size 11 and they have it..Nine West (Boutique 9, etc.), Enzo, Anne Klein, Joan&David, Rachel Roy?  My heart hurts....  I need to find out if they will close as an online retailer also.  Hope springs eternal.

Nine West and associated brands (Enzo, Anne Taylor, etc) are housed in a new funky spot at DC's Union Station. Formerly, it was Nine West's exclusive location. Now, this new spunky, boutique concept is more stylish and modern (Betsy Johnson if you will). Chairs and ottomans, spinning platforms to showcase the footwear, bright, quirky colors--so ladylike and fun.

I personally love all of my favorite brands under one roof. It's a welcomed idea!! Think Nine West outlet, but with an up to date twist with this season's shoes at average pricing!
