Rihanna inspired...

My sister decided to go super red. We both had red tints to our hair, but she had to go farther just to out do me (hehe). She says she was inspired by Rihanna. Its super bright too.

Polish Pet Peeve #1!

When ninjas (usually my sisters)borrow my polish and disrespect it as pictured above... let the polish crust up around the neck, polish dripping down the bottle and the writing/labeling is scratched off! Oh, don't forget loaning it off to someone else w/o my knowledge (yes, even if it is the next sister-- they all don't respect my polish the same)!

Each color is carefully selected and a proud notch on my polish collector license! Respect my polish, borrowers!

Lol! I love having sisters!

What are some of your polish pet peeves? Let's discuss! :D

Cinema Secrets Brush Cleaner Review

I picked up Cinema Secrets Professional Brush Cleaner at The Makeup Show NY with some Cinema Secrets Foundation palettes. I couldn't get a hold of my trusty Ben Nye brush cleaner for spot cleaning (spray cleaner on brush or towel and rub brush back and forth), so I finally pulled this baby out. Oooh yes, my brushes were clean and a bit shiny as if the cleaner had conditioned them! Nice! Quick drying time!

Uh oh... the 'fragrance' is strong =( It was slightly pleasant at first, but then it got sickeningly annoying... like old rubbing alcohol and grandma's vintage drugstore fave. I get past some smells like Revlon's new Colorburst lipsticks, I even LOVE MAC's vanilla signature scent, but this is one I couldn't shake. When I did a test run of the brush over my arm to see if it was dry, the smell transferred to my arm. *Sigh* Small item to note: This didn't clean my goat hair brushes of the old, bad staining from other eyeshadows (a hot pink and blue). Not the brush cleaner's fault.

Overall, fab product if you can stand the smell! Parian Spirit here I come... will I get annoyed with the citrus fragrance?

Go Mommy Go: Go Greens!

I was reading my dear friend Mildred's blog, BeautyLogic when I came across her top notch healthy Morning smoothie post, which helps her kick her new mommy, baby weight to the curb. I thought, "Wow I love smoothie idea and the Garden of Life Perfect food she adds to it." While I've done my green smoothies etc., I've found that they aren't as convenient as I need them to be in my daily hustle and bustle. My quest for greens on the go led me to Greens to Go Go Greens drink mix. I already carry bottled water. I add the mix and go! Cool right? They even have it in my favorite green apple flavor, yum! Compared to other healthy/diet supplement mixes I've tasted in the past, this isn't bad at all. Looks much worse than it tastes. I still strive for the real thing, but to SUPPLEMENT I drink the Go Greens mix!

Have you tried Go Greens? Do you have any solutions to getting nutrition on the go? Keeping up with our health is beautiful!

CoverGirl Queen Collection Natural Hue Concealer

Hey all! You all have had the pleasure of seeing just about all of my family on my blog, LOL! In this post, however, I'm reintroducing my sister Toni as my co-editor! Yay! So look forward to more from her in the future. In the past, she's graced us with her lovely face quite a few times and has shown us makeup looks, but this time she's giving us the low down on the new Cover Girl Queen Collection Natural Hue concealer (Whew! That's a mouthful!) Read on to see if she loves it, hate it or recommends it!
(The Natural Hue concealer comes in four shades: Golden Honey, Classic Bronze, Warm Caramel and Sheer Espresso.)

I was really anticipating the new Cover Girl Queen Collection Natural Hue concealer since I so love their foundation, bronzer, and most products from that line. In a nutshell, I was shockingly disappointed by the new product, and here’s why…

The coverage leaves so much more to be desired. The point of concealer is to get rid of the dark circles or problem areas under the eye and on the face, but I had no success in that area when using this product.

The consistency of the concealer is a little too watery and thin. Although I really appreciate coverage without it being too thick or pasty, I was hesitant when I felt the consistency of the product, and for good reason.

On a lighter note, this product would be perfect for people who don’t really have under eye circles, but would like to lighten under the eye for effect. It would also be perfect for those who don’t do a full face of make up, but throw on a little concealer and gloss before hitting the streets. I don’t recommend the concealer only look, but it works for some. If that look is for you, then this product may be one that you’d want to try.

Although the new concealer does not intrigue me, I am a true fan of the Queen Collection. This is just one product that I won’t use, which happens to be true for most product lines. There are usually products from various lines that you love and others, not so much. So, I’ll continue using the products from the Queen Collection that are absolute must haves and hope for a concealer that will “Wow”, in the future.

Smashbox Masquerade Mystique

I happened upon the Smashbox Masquerade Mystique collection while in Sephora looking for the Urban Decay Naked palette which was actually in stock!
So gorg right? I had to choose between this and UD. UD won, but I shall conquer later! Hehe! Musey (Musings of a Muse) has the deets on the rest of the collection. I didn't find the rest particularly appealing for my coloring besides the colored mascara and liner combo.. so cool! (Love a multitasking product!) The eye shadow palette was definitely the star of the collection!

Have you checked out the palette? Own it? What do you think??

Three I's

I got... the purple glitter acrylic that I initially wanted the first time I got this acrylic set. Now I'm looking for a darker purple color!

Mini review: Just like the popular acrylic white french tips for chip resistant color and longer wear many people get, this design takes on the same concept. Virtually no chipping and with the axiom gel top coat it shines for days without a clear polish top coat touch up! It seems stronger than regular acrylic. The finish is glassy with huge shards of opal-esque/mother of pearl glitter floating in a jelly. With this lilac color, I have no visible nail line like I did with the white/clear/sky blue glitter. Drying time is painless and perfect! About 10 minutes or so under the UV gel lamp and stick a fork in me, I'm done!

Downside: The cost will run you about $30-35-45 for a fill depending on what you want- change the design, cut down, basic fill. That's compared to a regular acrylic fill of $15-20. Also, during the file down you will need a little mask or to cover your mouth. This process get dusty and dirty more than likely due to the thickness and amount of acrylic and extra particles (the glitter).

I'm crushing on...*now loving* Nars Multiple in Lamu from the Summer 2010 Collection. It's Nars Multiple meets MAC iridescent pressed powders. Remember those from the Fafi collection? I didn't like the MAC iridescent powders because it gave a hint of color with huge glitter that fell where the wind blew... but THIS lays the glitter down in a cream, the color is gorgeous and is just awesome with my tan! :D Def have to see this in person. Here's one more Lamu Multple swatch from Celia. Most of the gold sheen you see in that swatch is pure glittah!

So my now serious crush is on the new NARS palettes!

I'm loving... MAC's Go For It lipstick. Cremesheen formula, nice color that's a get what you you see in the pic type color, which doesn't hold true for the likes of Lavender Whip.

A bonus 'Eye'... I bruised my eyeball (my left eye) during an allergy attack after enjoying my delish Ranier cherries last week. The best all season! Next time, I'll be heavily drugged with my Zyrtec before I indulge. This has been putting a damper on my makeup and it won't be totally clear for another week =(

Extra bonus I-- I LOVE YOU GUYS! Have a great weekend!
