Yummy411: Revisiting L'Oreal Double Extend Mascara, FOTD

Remember I did this review and spoke of the fibers that come off during washing? This is what they look like. Pretty freaky. I still like this mascara, not as much as Voluminous, but it's cool-- eh minus the freaky fibers. I'm just glad there isn't a bunch of smudge to clean.

I was out today with Suzie checking on MAC's Holiday Collection and got a lot of compliments on this look. Another friend asked if I was going to put the look up on the blog. It has been a full day and well.. here it is. It must have looked much better in person because it doesn't seem to me that there's much to write home about in the pics...

Here's how I achieved the look:
-Paint pot in Rubenesque all over eye
-L'Oreal HiP crayon in Unmistakeable (red/pink) all over lid
-L'Oreal HiP metallic duo in Platinum, silver side on inner 1/3 eye
-MAC Violet pigment on outer 2/3 of eye and through the crease
-L'Oreal HiP metallic duo in Platinum black side in outer v
-Lined lid with Revlon liquid liner
-Lined waterline with Blacktrack fluidliner
-MAC Violet pigment added to lower lid with an angle brush
-Added two coats of Maybelline Colossal to top lashes and barely there coat on bottom lashes.
-Dermablend concealer in tan used for under eye and to help shape brows
Freshly bleached and trimmed brows with Cork and Swiss Chocolate e/s in them
MAC Mineralized Skinfinish loose foundation all over face
MAC's Dame blush and Warm Soul mineralized blush mixed and added to cheeks
A swipe or two of Love Knot lipglass on lips
Have a great weekend!

thats because we are our own toughest critic...girl this look is beautiful, quit playing. The shading on the eyes is not to be played with. I love it!

OMG, I love this! I'm totally coping it:) I thought I was the only one that bought the pigment sticks? LOL.

Don't get me started on the double extend....I like it too but I had to figure out how to take it off. I'm posting my video review on Monday.

Cool look! I love this look, especially the way you contour the eyes. I used to have the one that Aishwarya Rai represents, the Volume Shock mascara and it does not come off like that. However, it's around 10-12 dollars a piece, really expensive for a drugstore mascara.

Beautiful!

& thanks so much for following my little unread blog, lol!

It's not my main one & totally forgot about blogspot (had it for a few yrs.) & just recently started posting again.

I was reading about your mascara issues & I totally ditched that one for the same reason. I thought maybe it was just me. =/

Colassal is nice btw it's in my rotation along with rimmel's Lash Maxxx & Glam Eyes.

Have a great night!

@ mischo beauty: thanks chica! let me know!!

@ amina and shawnta: thanks ladies!!

@ homespagoddess: cool lol.. i'm going to check the vid again. it wouldn't play for me the first time.

@ dao: thanks!! yeh after labeling loreal voluminous as my HG, i was interested in trying the older volume shocking mascaras. i didn't get into them before because 2 step mascaras weren't my thing, but now i'm willing. ;)

@ slvrlips: thank you! you say that about all the makeup you own! use or lose to me lol!

@ caliroll: no problem! no the flaking wasn't just on you... but honestly i think i might prefer dealing with the tubes during cleaning that smudging on my face cloth and extra cleaning to get rid of all traces of mascara. colossal's in my rotation too!

@ elle and connie: thank you!!

@ suziec: ok good because you saw the look in person. thank you!

@ apple diva and lisa @ serah's: thank you!!!

I saw you at Mac this day--remember me??? Anyway-I thought it was a great look up close but I was too star struck to say anything LOL...What'd you end up getting?

I LOVE this look!!!

I just wanted to say that not only do I enjoy your reviews on products and other things, but I enjoy your FOTD not only because of your creativity, but because we have a very similar eye shape and lid space. That helps me a lot in terms of my application of makeup!

@ tiara: hiii!!! it was so great to meet you! you are too funny..star struck? me (and suzie)? thank so much for dropping a comment and letting us know you're a reader.

@ alyssia: hey chica! how have you been? thanks so much!

@ erin: awww! that's great! i always feel bad that i don't do tutorials as much because i'll do a look and not know at all how it'll turn out. i'm glad the fotd's are helpful in some way!

@ tiara: oh to answer your question, i got the smokey eyes palette. i wanted a brush set too, but i heard rumors about them being about $15 cheaper at nordstroms. i called to confirm ... and it's true! what did you end up getting?

I got So Ceylon and Petticoat MSFs, sketch e/s and the 219 and 217 brushes. Got some boots too-LOL--I should've stayed at work!

i agree, so purtty! i think in person the colors probably reflect light even more...and you always have the best eyebrows girl...what do you use to color them? i know you mentioned bleaching them?

Missus!!! You have some goregous eyes!!!! WOW WOW WOW

You never fail to amaze yet again. I love the look! And whoaaaa those fibers freaked me out at first. I was like what the heck is that! But I guess it's cool that they come out in clumps rather than smearing all over your eye right? heheh.

You look sooo pretty!

yummy411 said...

@ christiana: thanks! i realized that it was prob your usual like you said when i went to other fotds.. for some reason, you looked a bit more fresher and brighter.

@ grayburn: if you love paint pots, it's definitely one to have! however, it didn't do much for the colors in this look, but to help with holding power.

@ tiara: great haul!!! so how much do you love so ceylon?? petticoat?? are you happy about your purchase? great brushes.. well all of MAC brushes are LOL! you didn't want a brush set? wow! and some boots?!?

@ makeupbyrenren: thank you lady!! yeh i bleach my brows with a sally hanson kit. usually when they are this light, it's a fresh bleach job lol. this time around i cut my hair very short. my brows are groomed properly so i resorted to cutting them. i use a combo of cork and swiss chocolate (for a bit more red) eye shadows to shade/fill. hth!

@ glow chaser: thanks so much! thanks for dropping by! don't be a stranger!

@ tina marie online: thank you thank you. my work amazes you when you are queen of bold, bright and beautiful looks that blow me away?? thanks!! yeh i've concluded that i much prefer weird tube thingies over the smudge!!

@ katee: thanks so much!! i love your blog!
