So I have a Soft Flower and Spiced Chocolate Fotd and some mascara reviews- Maybelline's new XXL Extension mascara and L'Oreal's new Double Extend mascara. Which do you want first? Pics or reviews? Eh, guess you really don't have a choice. I'll learn that html code one day so that you will have the choice, lol. I'm not that mean.
In a combo post, I usually give the text then the pics. This time I'll opt for pics then the text.
I wanted to use my Soft Flower e/s again that I'm really digging. Now, I bought it because it's a coral pink. Something I don't have much of. Why is it hard to find something in my makeup collection that will coordinate? I don't like all of my looks to be matchy- matchy, but they do need to coordinate a bit, especially when the look never really goes with my clothes. I finally replaced the Pandamonium Quad with the Spiced Chocolate Quad. FINALLY.
Here's what I came up with:
(I hate when my crease color(s) gets all crazy and I can't fix it!)
EYES-Soft Flower on lid, Brash (from quad-- it was so much more vibrant in person *sad face*) and Soft Flower in crease, Spiced Chocolate on outer v, Maybelline liquid liner to line top lid, Urban Decay's 24/7 eye liner in Zero on waterline, Clarins' Bronze eyeliner smudged on bottom lid, L'Oreal mascara new double extend mascara. L'Oreal HiP silver (from metallic duo) slightly on tear duct.
Maybellines mascara: I love the primer end, but I accidentally got the mascara in Soft Black. I need blackest blacker than black! The formula is thinner than I'm used to, so usually I make my step 2 Maybelline Colossal mascara. Great primer, mascara doesn't do enough for my lashes.
L'Oreal's mascara: I was trying to do some research on this one, but I can't tell if this is a new mascara or just a new tube. Cool primer, decent mascara. It definitely lengthens like it says it will, but I'm just as happy with my CG LashExact. I like these brushes that have denser bristles than the Maybelline brushes. The package says the mascara can be removed with warm water, which it can, but with just a bit of soaking. In the shower the mascara came off and it freaked me out a bit.. the little tubes coming off. I didn't know if my lashes were in them!
I prefer the L'Oreal mascara. I want to go back to the basics and get the old school, fat tubes double application mascara from L'Oreal, which I passed up on because I didn't want a two step mascara. Now I'm willing, I WANT VOLUME!
Here are the mascara wands: L'Oreal on the left, Maybelline on the right.
