Yummy411: Valentine's Doom

I scared the children with this Thursday night. I wanted to do an fotd, but didn't know what. I wanted to use my Ben Nye Azalea eye shadow (shocking pink) but it didn't come out the way I wanted so the the blues and purples started to take over and infiltrated.... I can't remember all of what I used (no one really wants to know right?) I did so much fixing and correcting, ugh. However, I wanted to try the single line contouring on my lid (as you can see the defined line up there) and High Top l/s matched perfectly, a little too perfectly, but I think it's a nice color. Not for everyone, though. =/
Damned Valentine's Day...

Girl it's easy to scare the kids! That purple look I did recently scared the crap out of mine. LOL
It doesn't look that bad to me but I know how you feel when something doesn't turn out the way you planned.

I really like this look. Sorry about N Collection look. I did not get a chance.. When my husband is home nothing gets done. It is forthcoming.

Kia you stepped out of the box we love so much. I like this look. The lip color looks nice as well. Did you feel comfortable with the single line contouring?

@ shawnta: yeh i guess it's not that bad, but scaring the kids put a stamp on it LOL

@ elizabeth: thank you!

@ seynone: thanks! no prob bob...at this late date, i've seen your fotd! thanks for posting. the look it hot!

@ slvrlips: thanks nikkia! did i feel comfortable? hmmm i don't know. i just tried, then blended it out. my creases are different on each eye, so it made it hard to make them symmetrical. funny enough i ran across a pick that does the contouring just like i did. so i guess i'm doing it right!

@ mrs.lynne: thanks mama!

@ marsadie: thanks! yes the guerlain is bitter sweet =p

@ jackii: thanks sooo much!

Ah, I was just admiring purple eyes on Vanessa's site and here I am at yours with another beautiful purple look!

And this might sound stupid, but what's single line contouring?? Lame, I know.. LOL

I actually like this look on you a lot! Looks awesome!

As for the Hipness blush, I thought I was the only one with that problem! At first I thought it's because it was Matte, but I have other matte eyeshadows that are much easier to apply!

The color of hipness is so pigmented that it puts a lot of color on one spot and I end up looking all orangey! So I just tap and literally just tap my brush onto it a couple times lightly just to get some color and lightly apply it on the apples of my cheeks and just build the color from there, but if it does get too much i just take a little more foundation and powder to tone it down!

@ nilla cookie: aww thanks. this purple look has nothing on vanessa's!

that doesn't sound stupid at all! i kinda made up that term to describe was i was talking about. i'm not sure if that technique/look is called that or not. what i was referring to was basically a curved line drawn above my crease for definition/contour. i think it's so cool =) have you ever seen the tommy girl dream perfume ad? i think the lady in the ad has that look... the ad is soooooo beautiful!

@ vanessa: thanks!

the blush prob is sooooooo annoying! it's such a bright color and if the placement is wrong, you look like a clown. i want to love it. i've had to do the same with the blush, but i hate feeling like i have to be super careful and put in the work =/ i change my brush to the 187 to apply. a bit better. thanks!

Ah, thanks for the insight on single contouring, I totally get it now :)

I haven't seen that ad but I think I'll surf the 'net to try and find it today (while I'm at work.. BOOO!)

LOL at scaring the kids! i think this look on you is gorgeous! i'm gonna copycat for sure.

my oldest son saw me one moring with lots of teal shadows, and he said, "you look like a peacock." i said, "is that good or bad?" he replied, "depends on if you WANT to look like a peacock." doh!
