Yummy411: 2008 Politically Pretty Challenge!

Hey Blog Family!

This year is so important for us as a whole. Our economy is going down, things are headed for the worst and we need change. I encourage people to actively participate in our democracy and effect change! In this spirit, some bloggers and I have gotten together to do FOTD's for this cause. Yes we are beautiful, we are on the computer (alot!), but we are also involved in our communities and are aware of what's going on around us.

During the DNC, I felt proud of my country, proud of Obama and proud of my people! We can do it y'all! Barack the vote! (Where's my t-shirt man?!)

Here's my FOTD:

"Are you registered to vote?"
My subtle look with bold lips, putting on the colors of the American flag!
(all MAC unless otherwise stated)
Mineralized Skin Finish Natural in Medium Plus

Dame blush

Base Light paint
Well Plumed Eyes Quad
-Shroom e/s on lid
-Well-Plumed e/s in crease and v
-Carbon e/s on outer v
Ben Nye's White pearl sheen e/s on tear duct
HiP's Color Truth Cream Eyeliner in Midnight Blue to line upper lid and water line.
Maybelline Colossal mascara
Derma Blend in Tan to conceal
Swiss Chocolate e/s in brows

Pure Vanity lipglass
a touch of Eclipse l/s to darken

Check out my other blogger friends that have done fotd's for this election season or just to express pride in their country:

[Edited to add!] I've been wanting to post this since the DNC!

Ohmigoodness Yums!!!! Beautiful! The intensity of the eyes is just out of this world! I don't know why this challenge excited me so much, but it really did. It's great to know that while we enjoy make-up, we can also discuss issues that matter. We ain't just dumb broads wearin' lipsticks!

Very pretty, Miss Kia, but is it political? If that was me, I wouldn't have wasted time painstakingly applying all of that makeup --I'd gather all of my eyeliners and then write "Vote for Barack, if you're not a total cock" on my forehead in red, white and blue. True, it's not necessarily 'pretty', but it IS 'pretty political'. Just a thought.
