Natural disaster knows no names... New Orleans, El Salvador, the Samoas, the Philippines (to name a few) and now Haiti. We'll never know the true devastation because we aren't there, but I'm glad to know that people are doing things to help out.
In the DC area alone (even celebs at the BET Honors held in DC spoke of ways they are contributing to the effort to help Haiti) the city was filled with social outings that would give aid to Haiti. I love seeing people coming together for an important cause!

p.s. I hope you all enjoyed your King Holiday by remembering the legacy of Dr. King and how he contributed to this country all before being assasinated at the tender age of 39. I took the kiddos to the Smithsonian American History Museum. We participated in a mock lunch counter sit-in training. I was also happy to see African American culture dispersed throughout the different exhibits in the museum.
