Beauty Lip Service

This was my first time ever getting my lip waxed.  The topic came up in beauty discussion and I grew a bit weary, wondering if  my faint hair (IMO) on my upper lip was unsightly in my makeup looks. I found out I was in the minority amongst my beauty fanatics that don't get my lip waxed regularly.  I went to get it  done and I couldn't believe how red and lumpy my lip got! Please tell me this is a first timer's experience??

I unfortunately had errands lined up after this and had to look like this.... My hair is growing back a bit now and I bought a hair remover kit by Sally Hansen.  You wipe the hair off for painless removal.

Any tips, advice, funny stories of hair removal??

Gilette Venus Embrace Product Review

Gillette's Venus Embrace is a dream, smoothing legs, getting every hair with the least amount of effort.  The Embrace has 5 curve hugging blades and protective ribbons of moisture, ensuring soft silky legs after a quick shave.  Included in the package you will receive a shower pod and two cartridges for future use.  If you want your best shave and silky smooth skin afterwards, Venus Embrace is for you.  However, please do not: trickle some water on it, to do a semi dry shave, after work, on the run, before your self tanning lotion application, before a happy hour meetup.  Yeh. Ouch. Embarrassing.

*Ladies with sensitive skin (especially under the arms) beware.  Rubbing blades across the skin can be irritating.  Five times the contact with blades on the skin with the Venus Embrace may make for a terrible reaction.

Yummy411: Epicare Hair Removal Tool

I'll admit that I have some facial hair... some dark ones that insist on being under my chin and the blond ones on my upper lip. Ok, don't look so close they get darker! Sheesh people! LOL

I was excited to try the Epicare Hair Remover tool, because it claims to bring you a similar method of threading to you in a sleek little tool. There are two plastic tubular ends with a spring coil in the middle. Twist the coil over your facial hairs and voila! They are snatched.

I tried this a few times. Under my chin, I was definitely able to capture some hairs, but unfortunately had to clean up with tweezers. (Wah! I was hoping to get rid of the tweezers for good!) On my upper lip, I'm wayyyy too much of a punk to go through with that! I twisted out a few hairs. Ouch~ my toes curled so hard, I had a Charlie horse in my foot (bad stiff cramp). I think this tool is innovative and moving in the right direction, however, I'm not totally satisfied. Would this work better if someone else did it for me? My sister says, 'no thanks' LOL I'll keep practicing with it to see if there is an 'art' to it, or at least to cut down tine on trying to get slim, hard to find hairs individually. I'm trying to commission my mom to test out the tool, since she has more of a chin whisker problem than I.

An at-home threading tool? Tried it? Do you think this would work for you? Let me know!

The Results: Sally Hansen's Spray On Hair Removal

My summer hasn't quite kicked into gear yet.  I haven't purchased my MAC tanner from the GlamGams collection . Nor, have I started any summer rituals of hair removal and body exfoliation to show off glowing skin. My mind and skin are still in a winter shell... (not the feet, though!) Which then means... I haven't tried the Sally Hansen Spray On Hair Removal!  Remember that post? Alas! I have found someone who has. Read her review here!

Unfortunately, so convincing is her review, ya won't get a review from me =(
