Cavalli Mates with H&M This just in: Roberto Cavalli, the Italian designer known for wisps of clothing that just barely conceal our reproductive machinery, has partnered with H&M to unveil a capsule one-off collection in November 2007. There will be 25 pieces for women; 20 for men--including lingerie for the ladies. It should be interesting to see how Cavalli's sexy rock and roll style translates to a lower priced line. He gets away with sheer zebra print mini dresses because the draping is exquisite, the fabric is top notch, and oft, he adds intricately beaded embellishments. What could sound tawdry --- a zebra print ultra-mini with a plunging neckline --- turns out ot be the type of dress that transforms a tall, skinny woman into a sensual specimen one might glimpse on a safari. BDAY WRAP UP

Thanks to everyone for sending me bday wishes! I went out on Saturday and had a great time! Some of the highlights: I saw a boat load of friends that came out to hang just for me! I was serenaded via voicemail. If I could link the stellar performance somehow I would. Now I need to find a way to save it before sprint erases it! A star is in the making! The band I went to see played a go-go rendition of Musiq's Teach Me How to Love (a total surprise!) I received tickets to see Musiq in concert, a dress, and what else makes this beauty brat happy? a MAC giftcard (via Nordstrom) Yippee!

Jennifer Hudson that is....
Gorgeous, stellar, and an incredible voice? She's definitely one of the most watched celebs right now. American Idol reject, DreamGirls star, a new, fresh talent, this girl's got it going on. More specifically, she's got a fab style crew that I was anxious to find out about. So, I did a little research to find out how she turned from inspiring star to glam celeb. Deep into Fall

I invision myself walking down the cool, city streets, enjoying the brisk air, sipping my caramel macchiato, in a laid back outfit..out shopping of course...... in Fall, city style. Here is my cool, relaxed must haves for this Fall look.



Dark Lips






I would like to try a dark, bold lip. Very daring, but with a makeup artist's help, I think I can work it. My choices for this look: MAC's Portside cremestick liner, Dense lipstick, and Trance Plant Lustreglass.

Sweater Dress

The girly-ness of a dress, but the warm cotton of a sweater all in one. I like the bold colors in this dress. The sky blue waist band draws attention, but in a good way. The jacket is thrown in for good measure.. I'd love to have this piece too! Ruffled, denim, unique and original. Wildlife-T-shirt.com


Tall Brown Boots









Try these for size. Ann Taylor Loft, Kenneth Cole boots. A wedge isn't necessary, but it's been the best transition from day job to weekend casual.

New and Improved?

GAP, Inc.

If you can't get enough of Banana Republic or are tired of sharing it with guys, GAP, Inc. is coming out with more of it's new store Forth & Towne- a direct competitor of Anne Taylor. The store made its debut in 2005 in Chicago and New York and was expected not to do so well. In their second year of business, Gap, Inc. is opening up five more locations in Atlanta, Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco Bay Area and Seattle markets. You haven't gotten the word on Forth & Towne? In the center of every store is a circular fitting room and complementary bottled water is available. They have four different collections and fits sizes 2-20.. not leaving out the big girls =) With a brand that you can count on for style and quality, Forth and Towne isn't a let down. The collections definitely boasts some keeper items. Unfortunately, they've come up with another name with a bad acronym...F.A.T. just as GAP (amongst 13 year olds stands for Gay and Proud.)

They have put on their official site the link to an online make up shopping venue- Gloss.com. Why waste your time shopping at gloss.com for mac (or any product for that matter) when you could just go to MAC's website? The newly endorsed website doesn't give any special looks at items like yours truly does, but simply gives a direct link BACK to maccosmetics.com........ MAC, that was a lame attempt to get customers for both you and Gloss.com

Favorites for fall

My favorite colors for fall are: chocolate and purple in the deepest of shades in all materials and patterns..... suede, wool, pinstripes, polka dots, patent leather, croccodile (faux for animal lovers/thrifty on the pockets) and much more (Gray was a runner up, but only in the trendiest of fabrics.) On the accessory front: pearls- the timeless classic; and animal prints are roaring again!

Hmmm the VMA's didn't keep my attention the whole time, but of course we took note of the fashion...

Rihanna... sooo cute! She has to stand her ground with all the ridiculous media beef between her and Beyonce'. I don't personally care for the baby doll deal coming back out, but Rihanna is killing it! Hotness!

Diddy being the shiny suit man.. leave tin man on the yellow brick road. Also, I love the fitted suit look/European fit, but Diddy actually has too much in the trunk for the European pants ..hhaahahaa

JLo ... she looks nice and presentable and usually she's a diva in any outfit, but this reminds me why i don't like the baby doll dress fit.

Paris is messing up my ruffled theory.. she looks like a bird trying to fly away.

This season.........

We are into 1.) RED HOT LIPS!

Red lips are a timeless classic, but now they are back bigger than ever. Make a bold statement from your mouth without talking! Brought to our attention by the 20's and 30's pompador, embellished romantic style, some Mediterranean flare, and French antique classic...hot red lips set off the trend. Watch out for the big bangs, rolled curls and waves engulfing the tresses and ruffles and lace on the fashion front.

M.A.C., the Idlewild movie, and Christina Aguilera are at the forefront of the trend. While we are not all equipped with all the embellishments of those eras (or the money to dream as if we were,) scope out the latest to make, what we like to call... your 2.) urban fantasy romance style!
