I was excited to try the Epicare Hair Remover tool, because it claims to bring you a similar method of threading to you in a sleek little tool. There are two plastic tubular ends with a spring coil in the middle. Twist the coil over your facial hairs and voila! They are snatched.
I tried this a few times. Under my chin, I was definitely able to capture some hairs, but unfortunately had to clean up with tweezers. (Wah! I was hoping to get rid of the tweezers for good!) On my upper lip, I'm wayyyy too much of a punk to go through with that! I twisted out a few hairs. Ouch~ my toes curled so hard, I had a Charlie horse in my foot (bad stiff cramp). I think this tool is innovative and moving in the right direction, however, I'm not totally satisfied. Would this work better if someone else did it for me? My sister says, 'no thanks' LOL I'll keep practicing with it to see if there is an 'art' to it, or at least to cut down tine on trying to get slim, hard to find hairs individually. I'm trying to commission my mom to test out the tool, since she has more of a chin whisker problem than I.
An at-home threading tool? Tried it? Do you think this would work for you? Let me know!
OMG! I have been wanting to try this threading tool for a couple months now. but I'm such a whimp (LOL)
ReplyDeleteYou are a much braver soul than I. This even sounds painful.
ReplyDeleteI bought this a month ago and I just couldn't get the hang of it..and it HURTS!! I think you're right that it would be better if someone else does it for u..I get my eyebrows threaded and that doesn't hurt at all..
ReplyDeleteI've been meaning to try this out but haven't gotten around to it. I so want to retire my tweezers. I did get the Emjoi Tweeze, which is ok. I need to do review on it.
ReplyDeleteyou need a faster epilator that's why it hurts on your face. :0(
ReplyDeletethat coil thingy would be like picking out each hair with a tweezer, right? owwwwch!
a faster epilator would be like getting waxed -- the hairs are ripped out really fast!!
@ slvrlips: me too! LOL
ReplyDelete@ jamila: LOL i think i want to get some of that numbing stuff by ardell and then try it.
@ tammy: aww i'm with you!!
@ (g): you are right. i think i saw jrose with a battery operated epilator! do you use one? which one do you like or recommend???
I actually have this and it can get kinda painful! It didn't really work to get rid of my "stache". It kinda only pulled out those hair that are not visible. I think it'll be good to de-furry a hairy forehead but you'd have to be real careful with it so that your hair won't get stuck in the coil. trust me, it hurts! threading's still the best
ReplyDeleteThreading isn't all it's cracked up to be. It was (and is still) really only done it parts of Asia in lieu of tweezing (either because they didn't have or couldn't afford a sharp pair of tweezers). Nowadays, threading has become irrelevant. Anything I can't wax, I tweeze. I used to have threading done as a small child and lost a small chunk/piece of my lip to it. Threading is no joke.
