9x the volume in one coat, no clumps
with collagen
opthalmologist tested
contact lens safe"
Nine times the volume in one coat, no clumps? Not happenin' Captain. I have to use about 3 coats to get any where near my HG L'Oreal Voluminous.
Observations: The brush isn't of that plastic variety everyone has been making for their mascaras. The formula is a touch thinner than I go for. The brush defines lashes. I can achieve noticeably longer lashes. I have to quickly get my coats on before it dries (not easy for me as I like to tease my lashes and thoroughly coat them.) If I haven't gotten my coats in quickly my lashes are hard (almost crunchy) and I risk making them look like spider legs =( This mascara holds curl VERY well! I didn't notice any flaking. It smells pleasant (I love the way DiorShow smells.)
The survey says: I'm content with this as a backup to my L'Oreal Voluminous for now. Not impressed enough to buy it again. I prefer LashBlast's formula over this one.
Maybelline's Great Lash is the only mascara I've tried from the brand - and that was kind of enough for me to say no more, LOL.
ReplyDeleteBut, if it holds curl as you say it does, I might have to give this baby a try!
Girl! I love lash blast too! Im so in love with it lol

I haven't seen this here in Australia yet, but from the pictures, the tube looks HUGE! :p
ReplyDeleteI just adore the tube! funky bright yellow 'an all. I don't love any maybellene mascara tho I find they run a lot?
ReplyDeleteNot a big Maybelline mascara fan although people SWEAR by the waterproof one. Including Holland Taylor the actress. Maybe this one isn't as good..
ReplyDelete@ nilla cookie: try it! tell me how you like it!
ReplyDelete@ xoxo jamie: me too! thanks!
@ tine: yes it's huge! as big as the lashblast.
@ row: hmmm i havent experienced any running yet, even in these hot summer months. i'll keep my eye out.
@ butterflydiaries: love your name/handle! all celebs love the latest promos ;)
Not bad for $5.99!! :D
ReplyDeleteIn response to your question, if I can remember correctly (I used Diorshow and Unlimited a year or two ago!), Black Out delivers more dramatic lashes than the regular Diorshow. In terms of volume, they're about the same, but I think Black Out delivers more length, and it is darker pigmented.
Unlimited is just good for length and separation, good for people who already have lush lashes. Like you! :D And it's very easy to use.
Oh, and I DID see the beauty blogger get together! I really want to participate! Although this weekend I'm busy packing and buying furniture for my move next week, so if there's another meeting in the future, definitely let me know~
thanks fuzkittie! super helpful.. i have to try blackout!! i'll send you an invite. i hope that we'll do these get togethers monthly =)
ReplyDeletesnagged this for 2.99 at CVS. i don't think i'll be buying this again either. :( since it is your HG, can you convince me to try voluminous? lol.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a great time!
ReplyDeleteI almost bought this mascara when I came across it in the local WalGreens. Now that you and Brit have reviewed it, imma have to check it out.
ReplyDeleteI really like this mascara but like you said if you don't move fast your lashes will be super stiff and almost weapon like.
ReplyDelete@ lani: it's so interesting how we take our HG items for granted. i don't think i've ever done an official review of loreal voluminous.
ReplyDelete@ felicity: thanks!!
@ aphrodite: i'd love to know what you think of the mascara... it's not really doing it for me.
@ suziec: oh i'm glad it's working for you! yeh, i can get some cruchy stiff lashes with that stuff. i guess it hold curl...
@ irene: thanks
