Yummy411: New Poll Question

Hey family!

I haven't had a poll question in a while, so I just put up a new one (over on my sidebar): Do you wear makeup to the gym or to workout?

I wanted to know what other people do. Before, when I'd head to the gym I used to wear a powder, gloss and mascara. It wasn't much, so I didn't worry. The only reason I had those items on to begin with is because I was already wearing those products for the day. Now that it's cooler and I've discovered a new makeup routine and interests, I feel odd wearing it to the gym (umm now that I'm trying to start back up, lol.) I don't have much time to take it all off before heading back out. So my makeup isn't vanity, just more of a time issue. What about you all? Let me know in the comments! Don't forget to vote!

I found this cute article for some tips! Check it out here.

  1. Oooo, I came back from the gym a while ago and before I left I made a point to wash my face. I have gone to the gym with a full face on (powder, mascara, neutral eyeshadows, etc.) and I didn't like the way my face felt. It was like I was sweating but, my skin wasn't breathing through the make up; my pores were blocked, ugh. Not to mention, I had on a majority white shirt, so I couldnt rid my face of a few sweat beads. So, no more makeup at the gym.

  2. Wearing make-up to the gym? you serious? the only thing you'd find on my face is lip gloss. I think some people go over board when going to the gym, I want to ask is it to pick up an attractive guy or is it because your so used to makeup that it has to be on at all times?

  3. I usually don't...the only time it happens is if I go straight after work. And like danyelle said, my face feels ICKY!!!! But co-sign with trecia, I do put on a little gloss...that's a must no matter where I go! So overall, I am going over to the poll to put my vote in as a NO! LOL

  4. @ danyelle: LOL... i know what you mean! i had a white towel and didn't want to wipe my face because i was embarrassed to see all the makeup all over the towel LOL. Yes washing as soon as I get home is a must! but you know blogging and taking pics are a priority LOOLLOL (just kidding)

@ trecia: i have no idea! like i said, i go with it on my face because i usu. already have makeup on for the day and don't feel like taking extra time to take it off before going. i wouldn't care less if i have makeup on or not, it's pretty much only women at my gym.

too many times i've heard at a makeup counter, "this is a light weight formula, so if you want to run errands, go to the gym, you'd use something like this." ummmm I would not buy makeup just to look covered but natural at the gym. however, i do understand some people who feel completely naked or less than presentable without something on. in that case, the issue is with them being satisfied with themselves... and uh hopefully not for a man =p lol

  5. hey baby doll! yes, gloss is on regardless. depending on my schedule, i might have to make plans to take off my makeup. ugh an extra 10 mins wasted =p lol

  6. I never wear makeup to the gym. I feel that my time working out is about toning my body and thinking about how I feel on the inside...I like knowing that when I'm sweating, I'm not sweating off all my makeup. That's just me!! I think overall, it probably depends the type of workout you're doing...when I see women running the treadmill with red lips and such, I wanna laugh. On the other hand, why SHOULDN'T one care about how she looks at the gym?

  7. Hey there!

I haven't gone to the gym in ages! But, when I do go, I go in the morning before work so that means no makeup at all. Plus, I can imagine that it would be embarrassing to (a) wipe sweat from my face in front of people, and (b) wipe sweat from my face in front of people and then have them see makeup streaks all over my white towel!

PS - Thanks for referring to us as your family! You're too cute :)

  8. I can't wear make-up to the gym either because I sweat extremely bad. This is where baby wipes come in hand. I never had (hence the word "HAD" because my ass ain't been to nobody's gym in a min...lol!) time to take off the make-up in its entirety so I have my mobile baby wipes in the car to help assist taking off face stuff, eye stuff and of course the lip stuffs stay on. Neva know who you might run into. Hehehe...

  9. Even though I have not been to the gym in a minute. I did not wear makeup to the gym on purpose unless I was somewhere else. Look, I don't coordinate outfits for gym, I know I am not going to put makeup on if I don't even care if my sweats match LOL

  10. I hate hate wearing make-up to the gym, I personally dont care what I look like when Im working out, but then again thats just me, I feel like I sweat better when I have no makeup on...

  11. I can't tell you when the last time I've been to the gym or when I will be going back but I would only wear lip balm. I don't think it would be good for your pores to open up and start to sweat and meet a full face of makeup. That's probably asking for a one way ticket to pimple city.

  12. @ elana: great points! thanks! =)

@ nilla cookie: yes quite embarrassing. hey you all are my blogger fam!

@ divine blackness: if i can stand to take off my makeup after a late night out, i can do it before the gym with the assistance of our fav baby wipes =)

  14. The most that I will wear is mascara (and then only one I know won't run into my eyes or smudge) and plain lip balm. Maybe if it's winter and dry, I'll wear a facial moisturizer with shimmer (like the one by Clean & Clear).
If i wear actually powder or foundation, my brain keeps shouting "YOU ARE CLOGGING YOUR PORES". lol

  20. No makeup at the gym for me. I admit I think it's a little odd when I see women in full face at the gym! The girl who's usually next to me in spin class is always fully made up - I spend half the class trying to figure out how she keeps her face from melting during 45 minutes of HARD work! LOL. To each her own :)

  21. A) I don't work out.

    2) If I did, I wouldn't wear anything but cocoa butter on my lips because I sweat like a hooker in church and all the cute guys would wonder who let that raccoon in and why is she riding that stationary bike.

  22. @ yannize: girl you are toooooo much seriously!! i'll be there with you after work with my red carpet face and sweats LOL

@ nerd girl: LOL at a melting face!
